A remake of this old thing 
I love how this turned out
everything in the background is placed just how it was done in the old picture
now I know how to shadow, use perspective, and how to draw birches
I did it for that re-draw contest thing
I will upload the meme thing later
It amazes me how much Spirit has changed since almost 3 years ago
actually that was the second picture of Spirit I ever drew
This has so much more detail

There are a few things that jumped out to me about the background, since you haven't been doing a lot of this kind lately:
1. Reflections (sadly) don't actually work quite like that. You don't need to change anything here, and I'm really lousy at teaching it, but it's something to keep in mind for the future.
2. Character is standing on a different perspective plane than the background. You're still a lot better than the original there, but this is a particularly tricky thing to catch. (The horizon should be a lot lower than it is, basically.)
3. Decreasing contrast (particularly on stuff like those rocks) and reducing saturation in the background will put the viewer's attention back on the foreground where it's supposed to go.
